There is a vacancy for the Groups Co-ordinator Role within our u3a. Jane Trow has enjoyed the challenge and has now been Groups Co-Ordinator for over seven years. U3a rules state that the maximum term is five years; in this case an extension was allowed due to the effect of Covid. So, it is essential that a replacement is found by our next election in October. The Groups are a main part of the u3a and it is vital they receive support when needed. The main aims of this role are as follows:-
Support all group leaders when necessary; this may be assisting with a suitable venue, advertising for new members for the group, and keeping group leaders up to date with any changes.
Help and support for members wishing to set up a new group. This will include initial advertising the group to all members and compiling a list of members, assist with finding a venue and guidance regarding record keeping, use of Beacon, health and safety rules.
Financial advice with regard to monies collected from members and record keeping.
The role is also one of being a u3a Trustee and member of the committee. The post holder will always receive full support and guidance from the committee members at all times.
